Activities Today
Today Initiatives of Change in Denmark is particularly engaged in
- a programme in Sierra Leone to facilitate reconciliation after ten years of bitter and brutal civil war and to plant the roots of democracy.
- a programme in Tanzania to help build moral foundations for the democratic development and to raise the conscience in our countries for a change in the present economic world order that will help the African countries to develop.
- arranging seminars about Reconciliation and Co-operation in the Baltic Sea region . There has been seminars in Stockholm, Copenhagen, St. Petersburg and Tallinn. The seminar in Denmark included a visit to the border area for a program about minority rights.arranged by the leaders of the Danish and German minorities
- an European action, Hope in the Cities, for creating a dialogue between ethnic groups about how to build the right kind of society together. Danes have taken part in such programs in Holland, Britain, Norway and Sweden, and in March 98 there was a comprehensive program in Copenhagen with visitors from Newcastle, Oslo and Stockholm.
- There is an information centre in Copenhagen and meetings are held around the country.
Initiatives of Change Denmark is part of an international network
Danes are also participating in the international conferences in Caux in Switzerland and in international programs, initiated by Initiatives of Change:
- Foundations for Freedom aiming at building a moral basis for the political life.
- International Communications Forum arranges seminars about ethics in communication.
